Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge Project Delayed
The Association has received an updated notice from the City of Irvine about the Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge Project. Unfortunately, the project is now experiencing an unexpected delay due to the requirement to relocate multiple utility lines within the construction zone.
What’s Happening & Why
- Bridge construction will be temporarily suspended until the utility line relocations are completed (estimated in about three weeks).
- The relocation work will not interrupt utility service for any residents — there will be no outage during the process.
- Because no active construction work is scheduled during this delay period, the City cannot provide traffic control assistance along York Street.
- To prevent vehicles from diverting through the Community during this period, York Street will be fully closed (Monday through Sunday) for the next three weeks.
- During the full closure, residents should use Teller Avenue for ingress and egress.
- Once construction resumes, York Street will again be closed—but only during normal work hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm).
Throughout, the Association is maintaining open collaboration with the City of Irvine and Irvine PD to ensure that the community stays safe and informed.
Why This Matters to You (Residents & Property Owners)
As a trusted property management firm, True Property Management understands that infrastructure disruptions can ripple into everyday life and property values. Here’s why this matters:
- Traffic flow & safety — A full closure of York Street affects how residents, guests, and service personnel enter and exit the neighborhood.
- Tenant satisfaction & communication — Tenants may raise questions about alternate routes, timing, or noise and expect fast, clear responses.
- Project transparency — Knowing the status and expected timeline helps you plan and adjust expectations.
Because of that, our team makes it a point to stay updated on local developments like this and provide clear communication to homeowners and tenants.
Next Steps & What You Can Do
- Use Teller Avenue during the three-week full closure for all access.
- Prepare for partial closures once work resumes—York Street will be off-limits during typical construction hours.
- Stay informed — The Association and City will share updates as soon as new information is available.
- Ask questions — Contact the City’s project office with any concerns: Email: pm@cityofirvine.org
